Strange cat fact: Apparently our feline friends are not into the sugary stuff. Why?

Oh, the torture! It turns out cats don't dig eating sweet stuff because they can't taste it! Studies show they simply don't have the genes that allow them to taste 'sweet'. In fact, cats are the only mammals known to lack a sweet tooth. Another thing they're not down with: carbs. Still, today's cat food is about 20% carbohydrates. Experts say this could be why so many of our purrrrfect pals are becoming diabetic.

And here's the thing... your cat may indeed eat drops of rogue ice cream. But the pros say it's more likely Fuzzy is enjoying the fat, rather than the 'sweet'.
